Better privacy starts with better test fixtures
Make product demos and development environments useful without bringing customer addresses along.
Separate demonstrations from production
Screenshots, public demos and bug reports should not contain live customer profiles. Replace the whole record with synthetic data; replacing only the name still leaves location and contact details behind.
Know where your fixtures live
fakeloc creates records in the browser. Saved addresses use local browser storage and exports go to your downloads folder. Shared devices, backups and screenshots can still expose saved files, so clear or export your collection deliberately.
Use synthetic data in the right places
Use fixtures in your own development and test workflows. They are not substitutes for accurate shipping, billing or identity details. A generated record does not establish an address, a mailbox, an identity or eligibility for a service.
